Bearded Dragons as Pets

The Bearded dragon is a reptile and a good pet if you want. However, they must have hiding areas out of the light so they can properly regulate their heat.

As Australia does not allow its wildlife to be exported, the animals currently available are descendents of a small number removed years ago.

Bearded Dragons are mainly insect eaters.  About 20 percent of the diet should be vegetables. Under optimum conditions Bearded Dragons grow fast and can reach adult size in 12 months. Do not keep males together as they are territorial and will fight.

Habitat:

Desert / Dry land

Bearded Dragons are from south-central Australia. These lizards can live ten years. They feed mainly  on  insects, but also on flowers and other vegetation. It will puff  its head to warn off intruders.
