The northern hairy-nosed wombat is nearly extinct because there are only 40-60 left in Australia. The northern hairy-nosed wombat's nose is very important because they have very poor eyesight so they can smell their food in the dark. It take about a day for a northern hairy-nosed wombat to dig a burrow with their sharp claws. The wombats claws are a about 5 cm in length.
The Northern Hairy- Nosed Wombat has a furry nose, that's why it got called the Northern hairy-nosed wombat. Nicolette and Jessey chose this animal because it is a cute and interesting creature in Australia.

A wombat has a very different kind of skeleton and digestive system. The northern hairy-nosed wombat likes to live alone. If another wombat comes he starts to attack the wombat
