Red Bellied Black Snake by Tye and Mitchell

The red bellied black snake is an Australian snake. It is a fairly common snake and can be found in bush land around a lot of south and eastern Australia.

We even found one in Tye's backyard!

This is where they live.

Location  

The red bellied black snake is found mostly in Victoria, South Australia and the eastern side of NSW.

         

Habits

The red-bellied black snake is shy. The red-bellied black snake is most active at day. It will rarely bite even when its angry. It likes damp places. 

 

This is a snakes digestive system.

 

Length.  

The Red Bellied Black Snake grows from 1.5 to 2 meters long.

Diet. 

The red bellied black snake eats rats, frogs, birds, lizards and fish. 

This is a snakes skeletal system.

Appearance

It usually has pink scales on the lower sides of its body. The large scales on the red-bellied black snake's stomach help it move along the ground.
