Introduction

The Southern Brown Bandicoot is an Australian mammal. It is also an endangered animal.

Appearance

The Southern Brown Bandicoot has a dark grey fur and a brown back, is light underneath and it also has a rat like tail.

 

One of the Southern Brown Bandicoot's predators is the dingo.

Feeding

The Southern Brown Bandicoot eats small  lizards, berries, spiders, plants, grubs, roots and small mammals including mice.

Predators

The predators of the Southern Brown Bandicoot are Dingoes, feral cats and  Foxes. 

Breeding

The female Southern Brown Bandicoot has eight teats inside her pouch full of milk that the babies drink. The mother has about two to four babies each breeding season. 
Life Span

The life span of the Southern Brown Bandicoot is 3 years that is not long at all, but for them it is.

Height and weight

The male Bandicoots grow up to36 cm long and weigh up to 1.6kg. The female can grow up to 33 cm and weigh up to 1.1kg.

You know when a Bandicoot has past by, by the footprints and the droppings. The front paw footprints of the Bandicoot look like a chicken's footprints, but bigger.
