GREAT WHITE SHARK
WHITE POINTER SHARK By Rory and Jordan.
|
The Great White Shark can get as big as 7-8 meters long. It is the most DANGEROUS shark in the world. It mostly likes Seals but it also eats Sea Lions, Dolphins and Tuna. When surfers and swimmers are in the water and if there is a shark around it will take one bite and leave us alone because it doesn't like our blood. Sharks can smell blood from a long way out at sea. |

The Great White Jaw |
Deadly Teeth A Great White Shark has six rows of triangular teeth which are razor sharp. The teeth get up to three inches long. It has up to 3,000 teeth. If some teeth falls out another takes its place. The teeth are located in rows which rotate into use as needed. The sharks teeth and jaw is specially shaped so that the shark can easily bite huge chunks from its pray. Its teeth are a bit like the Tiger Snake teeth but the Tiger snakes teeth have poison. |

Digestion This shark digests food very slowly, so many days or weeks may pass between each meal. Surfers, swimmers and divers have been attacked and are probably mistaken for the shark's usual food. When it attacks, the Great White circles and bites once, then waits for it's prey to bleed to death before attacking it again. |
