Dubbo Zoo
By Tyson and David
| The Western Plains Zoo, in Dubbo N.S.W, is the
largest open-range Zoo in Australia. Here the animals are
left to wander freely in open spaces made to resemble
their natural habitats. There are no fences or grills,
instead a series of concealed moats with special wire
which keep visitors safe while still giving them the
impression that they are in the wild with the animals.
The Western Plains Zoo helps to preserve Australia's
native fauna by treating injured and distressed animals
and where possible returning them to the wild. The
Western Plains Zoo is in Dubbo, New South Wales.
