MELBOURNE AQUARIUM

By Abbie and Chloe.

The Aquarium is about 3,000 square metres in size. The Aquarium site is four floors [two above ground and two below ground] making a total of 9,000 square metres.
The Melbourne Aquarium has just opened in the city. It is a wonderful place to go to see weird fish. There are sharks, eels, sting rays, and just a few more lobsters.
There are MILLIONS of wonderful fish and it is air conditioned for the fish to keep cool. There are snails to keep the tank polished and cleaned.
The new Aquanium has super, fantastic and brilliant fish of the world. You can see lots of fish with beautiful scales and wonderful colours!!!! Some of the fish came from Port Phillip Bay.
At the Melbourne Aquanium you can come face to face with a man eating shark, but only though the glass.
Imagine standing inside a glass fish bowl with man-eating sharks and sting rays.Wouldn't that be scary? I am sure it would be.

This stingray looks like it has a face.

The Melbourne Aquarium is owned by Melbourne Underwater world Pty Ltd.

The people that own the Aquarium have responsibilities to sometimes clean the fish tanks and also the sharks' tanks. They have to get up very early in the morning to feed the fish and turn the pump on for the fish.
