St. Paul's Cathedral

by Alex and Brittany

St Paul's Cathedral was built in 1836. It took twelve years to built, so it was finished in 1848.

St Paul's was built to spread peace in Melbourne.

St Paul's Cathedral is on the corner of Flinders Street and Swanson Street.

St Paul's Cathedral has 13 bells that were cast by Mears and Stainbank in 1889.
The bells total a weight of
7 tons 3 cwt.

St Paul's is a lovely place to go and hear the choir sing and to see their lovely stain glass windows.

St Paul's Cathedral has its very own prayer and here it is.

"O God to your glory this cathedral was built
Send your bessing on all
Who serve and worship in St Paul's
And all who enter its doors.
Let it always be a place where your love is experienced,
Your truth proclaimed,
And your name is glorified,
Through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen."

Outside there is a very nice cross with rejoice in words all around it.

.

There is statue of a man called Mathew Flinders. Mathew Flinders was the first person to sail around and map Australia

Note the lovely patterns on the floor.
