| SCIENCE The Science program at the Museum focuses on the nature of Science and Australian Science. Museum Victoria is supports many other science museums, such as ScienceWorks and The Planetarium. AUSTRALIAN SOCIETY Through this program Museum Victoria provides a public forum for exploring and debating issues such as Australian Society, Cultural People, Work and Leisure and our connection with the Asia Pacific Region. WHAT OTHER MUSEUM'S DOES MUSEUM VICTORlA SUPPORT? Theses include: ScienceWorks Museum, The Immigration Museum, The National Melbourne Museum, National Wool Museum and The Hellenic Antiquities Museum. ABOUT MUSEUM VICTORIA. In the summer of 1987-88, almost an entire block at the northern end of Melbourne's Central Business District was excavated by a team of historical archaeologists, before being redeveloped for tall office buildings. About 17,000 items were collected and described, and they are now held within Museum Victoria's Department of Social History. |
