TheSydney Opera House is surrounded by water on three sides. It is meant to look like a giant sailing ship. It was opened in 1973. The Sydney Opera House is a most memorable place for many different rooms such as: a Concert Hall, a Theatre for opera and ballet, a smaller Theatre for plays, a Recording studio, a Rehearsal room and a Movie theatre.
The Sydney Opera House is in the centre of Sydney and is very close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The Sydney Opera House is one of the busiest Performing Arts Centres in the world. Each year it attracts an audience of around two million people.
The Sydney Opera House was designed by Jorn Utzon. Jorn won an international competition for designing the Sydney Opera House in 1956.
