Adam Gilchrist is one of Australia's best wicket keepers. Adam Gilchrist has played 95 matches and scored 2968 runs at the average of 33.34. He made 6  hundreds and 14 fifties. As a keeper he has taken 118 catches. He also has the record for the most dismissals by the keeper in One Day Internationals.

Gilchrist was born on the 14th November 1971 in Bellingen, New South Wales and went to Denilliquin Primary School. With the support of his family and his ongoing commitment to the game, Adam wanted to become one of the fastest bowlers in the world. He is now one of Australia's best wicket keepers. He has played 46 one day matches.

When batting with Mark Waugh, he and Mark are the most deadliest opening pair in the game. Adam has a wide variety of strokes. He can also drive the ball through the arc between mid-off and mid-on. As a Batsman, Adam is left handed and his style for playing attacking shots and for punishing loose bowling, makes him one of the most exciting batsmen to watch in cricket today.

Adam is a good striker of the ball. His strike rate is 83. His highest score is 154 against Sri Lanka. "Adam leads the Australian Team out onto the field for the start of the first day playing against the West Indies in the 3rd test. Australia  won the test by 5 wickets with Damien Martyn hitting the winning runs." Gilchrist is the vice Captain.
He won the Man of the Match Award against Sri Lanka, making 154, his highest score.
Australia won the last of the preliminary matches in the Carlton United Series.
