Dame Nellie Melba

Dame Nellie Melba was a famous Australian singer. She was born in 1861 and died in 1931.  

When she was a little girl she played the piano. 

Her husband was a sugar cane manager.     

Melba's first recordings were released in London under her special lilac label. 

The  records  sold out in  days.
