Fiona is  famous because she was the first person to have her heart replaced and the youngest. She was 14 years old when the operation took place. Her doctor was Victor Chang. After Fiona had her first heart replaced and then in and in another two years her second heart was dying. Fiona had her 2nd heart removed. Fiona made friend with other people wich had hearts removed too. Both her two friends died when she was in hospital getting her third heart. She is the Australia's longest person to live after having three heart operations.  
One day Fiona was getting tired and then her throat started to hurt. At school she collapsed and was rushed to the doctor. Eventually the truth was discover she had Cardiomyopathy  which meant her heart was dying. She was taken to Sydney North Shore hospital, but the doctors couldn't help Fiona. They needed a healthy heart from a person. Someone from St Vincent's hospital had died, but the heart was still healthy. This was Fiona's lucky break.     
Fiona Coote was born in 1969 at Manilla, New South Wales. Her father's name was Terry Coote. Fiona loved running and netball. She played netball for her school. Her two best friends were Chris Gladison he was 18 years old and David Coleman he was 21 years old. Now Fiona is married.
