Shane Gould is a great swimmer. At fifteen she held all freestyle records.  In 1972 she won five medals three gold at the Munich Olympic games. After the Munich Olympic Games  she went to America to train more. After the Games she came to Australia with three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. It was hard work but she loved it and pushed herself. It paid off and she become a champion. Her best stroke was freestyle. At  seventeen she gave up. 

 She could swim  freestyle at three years of age. She was confident at swimming. Shane Gould doesn't like people that cheat. When she was nine she joined a swimming club.  When she was fifteen she took swimming more seriously. She trained every day and night.  Today Shane Gould helps other athletes. She always liked to swim at the beach. After she quit swimming she tried something completely different.

Shane Gould is one of the best swimmers in history. When she was thirteen she joined a pro swimming club. When she quit swimming she helped people go off drugs.  She had a good career.  By time she was  fifteen she held every freestyle world record from 100m to 1500m. She has  11 world records. In the Olympics 2000 she carried the torch in the Opening Ceremony. 
She is an Australian sporting legend. She swims 100 metres to 200 metres to 400 metres to 800 metres to  1500 metres.
