Cathy Freeman.

 Catherine was born into a family of five and they called her Cathy for short. When Cathy was a little girl she enjoyed high jump  running. When Cathy was in grade one at primary school her school teacher, told her to enter in to the school sports and Cathy's loved running ever since.
When Cathy was 13, she got one sporting scholarship to Fairholme Girls College in Toowoomba. After three years at Fairholme Girls College, Cathy got  another sporting  scholarship at the Kooral International School where she was coached. Cathy's parents worked hard to raise money so that Cathy could compete in races around the world and so she could go to the Olympics.

History/Education

Cathy Freeman is married to Alexander Bodecker and  they were married in 1999. Cathy was 27 when she married Alexander but she has no children.

Cathy Freeman is a a very good runner and she won Gold this year in 2000. she did enter more races which were 800m and 200m but no medals. Cathy has been one of the most famous Australians. Her success at the Olympics in winning the 400 metres and lighting the Cauldron at the games were inspiring to the whole world. They were the most remarkable moments of all time.
