 He was a lover of sport and was elected for The State Basketball Team in 1973 and 1977. And in 1997 he was declared a national living treasure. In 1978 Ernie joined The Middar Aboriginal Dance Theater. Today Ernie is known as a entertainer. He is on The Great Out Doors. You can watch Ernie at eight o'clock on Tuesday night. Ernie Dingo was once a stained up comic in the trade union club. He (as you know) is a very famous TV actor and movie star. Dingo has been in 22 TV programs and 13 theater productions. Ernie has a aboriginal name called Oondamooroo. Ernie Dingo is on the Great Out Doors, Blue Heelers, Kullark and the Olympic Ceremony.

Ernie Dingo was born in an old tin shed July31st 1956.  He is now forty five years old. Ernie has been an actor for twenty seven years of his life. His acting roles started when they found his amazing talent for basketball. Ernie loves sport - he started playing basketball at age nine. When he was nineteen he found his first girl friend and had a baby girl.

  When she was three years old they split up and she moved to England and he stayed in Perth. Ernie thought it was the worst mistake of his life until he met the person he wanted to spend his life with and is still with her today. Ernie likes baseball, Cricket, basketball, Aboriginal dancing and acting. What Ernie doesn't like is Rugby and Softball. Even today when Ernie has a chance he still plays basketball with his grandson and his daughter. He said that the kids are much like him in that they love sport and love little games.

 Ernie is married to Sally and now has 2 children by the names of Willard and Jurra. Ernie came from a family with his 3 brothers and 5 sisters! Ernie's aboriginal name is Oondamooroo which means shield, he is a Wadjadi Yamatji. Yamatji which means his people and Wadjadi is his language . Ernie is also an athlete, musician, dancer, songwriter and teacher.  Ernie has starred in "The Great Outdoors" a very popular Television program which is now in it seventh year.
