Sir Henry Edward Bolte  was the sixty first Premier in Victoria. He was Premier from 7 June 1955 - 23 August 1972.

He was the longest serving  Premier in Victoria, serving 6288 days. He was born in 1908 in Ballarat, Victoria. He went to Skipton Primary School and later went to Ballarat Grammar. He married Edith Lilian Elder on the 24 of November,1934. He was a member of the Athenaeum and the Australian and Geelong clubs. His hobbies were golf, shooting and horse racing.

His wife, Dame Edith Bolte was born in Skipton, Victoria. She also went to Skipton Primary School. She was a member of the Alexandra and Liberal Women's Club, the State Council Girl Guides and the State Council Red Cross. 

He has a bridge named after him. The Bolte Bridge  reaches up to 140 metres in the air. It was only opened recently, in 2000.
