Wulungurru School 2004 Great Fly Off

We hope you enjoy reading about our designs.

 Our Internet Pals and their teachers planned a series of Flight activities and experiments.  Many Emails and digital photographs were exchanged and we would like to thank everyone in the Northern Territory for their efforts.

The work all the students did, gave us a great example of how to design and record the results of our paper planes.  Thankyou for all your emails.  Our students loved to write back to each class. We hope you had as much fun as we did.  We have included some of these on the page for you.  ENJOY!!

The name Parrpakanu is Pintubi/Luritja for"being in flight".

Yesterday the teachers made their planes and today the students have voted 

which one they think will fly the further. Tomorrow my class will count the votes 

and create a bar graph of the results. 

And on Friday we will have a competition between the teachers to see who wins....

this was the introduction of the project to the students.

We have completed part one of the Great Fly Off - the teachers have made

their planes and the students have voted on which plane will win and have

created a bar graph of the votes. I'm sending photos of the teachers

making their planes and creating a display for the kids to look at.

The students here are very excited about the project and are 

very aware that they are working with your students.

During this project I've seen them really engaged

and really aware of what is happening.
