| School Profile Anderson’s Creek Primary School is situated in a unique treed setting in the heart of Warrandyte. Sited next door to the Warrandyte Park and the Yarra River, the school enjoys broad expanses of playing fields and numerous shaded areas. The school boasts an architectural design which not only blends in with the environment but encourages cooperative teaching. Parents have an important role in the workings of the school through School Council, committee structures and classroom management practices. Anderson's Creek Primary School is some thirty kilometres northeast of the GPO and is home to 350 students. Anderson's Creek Primary School is very much a community based school which places great importance on the partnership which exists between parents and teachers. The school is situated near the historical remains of Victoria’s first gold mine and is located in a community with a long history of traditional art and crafts. It is the firm view of our School Council that Warrandyte is a functional community and that the school should actively promote this notion by participating in local celebrations. |

| Anderson's Creek Primary School provides an integrated curriculum. Strong teaching practices and cooperative learning are key approaches adopted by the school. Team planning is an important part of our teaching with all VELS levels engaged in detailed planning with consistent implementation strategies. All areas of the VELS are addressed with a particular emphasis given to literacy and numeracy. Evidence of our success in both areas can be quantified with references to our statewide and local assessment data. There is a strong emphasis on the use of information technology in our classrooms. We will persist with exploring new directions in information technology in the coming years. Recent developments have included multi media trolleys and the beginnings of podcasting. Anderson's Creek Primary School continues to be a leading practice school and is a statewide model for computer assisted learning. Our children have won numerous awards for the creation of informative websites. |

Assessment and reporting practices are continually being developed with all teachers using computer assistance to generate reports on student progress. The erection of a high ball stadium at the school occurred in 1999 and has had a major impact on our programs for Health and Physical Education. We have, this year, been able to install a synthetic surface to our school oval to provide a consistent playing surface for the entire year. Anderson's Creek Primary School will consider how best to offer a wide range of curriculum options so that all children can be challenged according to their individuals needs and talents. Music, Italian LOTE and a thriving Art and Craft program all add to the delivery of a comprehensive program which will appeal to all children and a variety of abilities. Further issues of welfare and discipline will continue to evolve as the school strives to support all children. Equally, Anderson's Creek Primary School will promote ongoing professional development so as to best serve its most valuable resource, its teaching staff. To this end Anderson's Creek Primary School has always nurtured a high performing team of teachers and strives to maintain our reputation as a respected learning community.
